JOHN DIEDERICKSON AGE: 84 • KEYPORT
John Diederickson died Monday at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy Division. He was 84. He was born in Perth Amboy and lived there and in Matawan before moving to Keyport last year. Mr. Diederickson had been a fire-man with the Perth Amboy Fire De-partment for 27 years, retiring in 1969. He was a member of the Perth Amboy Volunteer Fire Department for more than 60 years, Lincoln En-gine Company No. 1, the Exempt Firemen’s Association, and the New Jersey State Retired Police and Fire-men’s Association. He was an Army veteran of World War II, attaining the rank of sergeant and serving in the 17th Armored Engineers Battalion. He was a member of American Le-gion Post 45. Surviving are his wife, Anna V.; a sister, Kathleen O’Rourke of West Orange, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords. Burial will be at Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy.
