NARRATIVE REPORT OF COMPANY “D” OF THE
17th ARMORED ENGINEER BATTALION1 September, 1944 – Company moved from PIERREFORT (Pierrefonds, France) to RUMANCOURT (Rumaucourt) 55 miles.
2 September, 1944 – Company moved from RUMANCOURT (Rumaucourt) to LA GLANENE (La Glanerie, Belgium) 33 miles.
3 September, 1944 – Remained in assembly area.
4 September, 1944 – Remained in assembly area.
5 September, 1944 – Compaw moved to BAULEN, BELGIUM

62 miles.6 September, 1944 – Company nuved to PRETNEFAIR, BELGIUM (unknwon)
27 miles.7 September, 1944 – Company moved to ST. TROND, BELGIUM

17 miles.9 September, 1944 – Company remained in assembly area at HASSELT.

11 September, 1944 – Company moved from HASSELT to BOEKT, BELGIUM,
18 miles.12 September, 1944 – Company removed 9 #1 teller mines from R. R. Crossing at 325645 (HASSELT).
Company less 3rd platoon held north end of bridge at STOCKREGE

14 September, 1944 – Company guarded bridge over ALBERT Canal at HASSELT.
15 September, 1944 – Company relieved from bridge guard and removed mines and road blocks on roads branching north and north east from ASCH.

1st platoon re-moved 13 prepared charges (12 #TNT with D235 igniter) in boxes in road and 9 Teller Mines removed.
Trees felled across road for 200 yards removed. The 2nd platoon pulled two #1 Teller mines which detonated on being pulled indicatintg a D242 igniter.16 September, 1944 – Outposted town of REKERN, BELGIUM

18 September, 1944 – Moved to RAAR, HOLLAND and assembled for the night.
19 September, 1944 – Moved to town of URMOND, HOLLAND and outposted bridge at URMOND and area north and south of town between Canal and River. Also lifted 10 large prepared charges on main road leading east from BERG.
20 September, 1944 – Returned to 17th Armored Engineer Battalion.
